Modern European-inspired hotel in downtown Tucson with sleek design and rooftop bar with mountain views.

We stayed here two nights while visiting Tucson and arriving by Amtrak. The location is very convenient, especially if you’re coming by train since the Tucson Amtrak station is only a short walk away. It’s also a great area for walking around downtown with plenty of restaurants and things to see nearby. The hotel itself is modern and clean. The rooftop pool area is very nice with good views of the city and surrounding mountains. It’s a relaxing place to sit and enjoy the weather. The lobby bar was also enjoyable. We had a drink there one evening and the bartender was friendly and easy to talk with. There were a couple small room issues. The curtains were stuck and didn’t slide open easily, which was frustrating, and housekeeping didn’t restock enough wash rags during service. The bigger issue happened at checkout. We were charged $32 per night for valet parking even though we arrived by Amtrak and never had a vehicle at the hotel. I mentioned this when checking in and again when I called about the charge. Initially the staff did not accept that explanation and the manager had to physically go outside and check the valet parking log book to confirm our name was not listed. After verifying that we never used valet parking, the charge was removed. In the end the issue was corrected, but the process to get it fixed was frustrating. My advice for future guests is to carefully review your bill before checking out. Another thing to be aware of is that there is a nightclub next door that plays music late. The front desk did warn us about it during check in, which I appreciated. You can hear the music until around 2 AM, although it wasn’t quite as bad as I expected after the warning. Overall the hotel has a great location for downtown Tucson and is especially convenient if you’re traveling by train. Helpful tip for future guests: If you arrive without a vehicle, double check that valet parking was not automatically added to your bill. In our case we arrived by Amtrak and were still charged $32 per night until the manager checked the valet log and removed it. Recommended stay: 1–3 nights.

I am Bonvoy platinum and I've stayed at various brands hundreds of times I rarely leave reviews but this day was memorable. The location is fantastic and I was upgraded to a suite which was very nice. In the morning I asked the front desk person if I can extend my stay at my current rate in my current room which most properties will always do and she immediately said yes. I asked if I could just have a few minutes to decide and I went to get breakfast. I then canceled the hotel I had for tonight and went back and asked her to extend my stay. She then said she couldn't override the rate and refused to do what she promised . I have never been treated like that. I am extremely upset, you don't do that to any customer and especially platinums! I now have no hotel for tonight. The front desk employee needs some serious training. You don't agree to something and not do it. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and she said none were available and refused. I am now stranded with no hotel and have never been treated like this

The staff were friendly and the lobby/bar area was very nice. The room on the other hand left a lot to be desired, making the experience less than ideal. The value just isn’t there for what they charge. I’ve paid half and gotten much more out of a room at other hotels. The bathroom setup was strange with the sink and mirror in the same space as the mini fridge/drink area. The room we got (paid a little extra) didn’t have a great view; instead it backed right up to the pool/patio area. In the end, it was a convenient location, but there are other places in the area I’ll choose to stay at next time, given the prices this place charges and what you get / don’t get for that.

Beware: Noise, noise, noise. Great location, but the rooms are just okay—and dirty. Be prepared to deal with constant noise. It’s so bad that the hotel provides free earplugs, which still don’t help. If you stay on the side of the hotel where the gym is located, expect significant noise and vibrations from weights being dropped. The gym is on the 6th floor, so you will both hear and feel it in your room. Cleanliness was also an issue. The floors were especially dirty. I spilled some water and used a bath towel to clean it up, and it was shocking how filthy the towel became.

I had a fantastic stay at the AC Hotel! The entire property was incredibly clean and well-maintained, which made me feel very comfortable. The breakfast spread was excellent—higher quality than your typical hotel food with fresh coffe and delicious options. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a modern and reliable place to stay.
