Extremely unprofessional, misleading and regretful experience. I truly regret ever working with ADT. I signed a DocuSign contract that clearly showed a monthly payment plan with NO upfront cost. But when the technician arrived, he had me sign another contract without explaining that it was completely different. I trusted him and assumed it was the same agreement. The next day, ADT took $68.81 PLUS $1,454.50 from my bank account—charges I never approved and that were NOT part of the contract I agreed to. I feel I was misled and taken advantage of, especially as a foreigner who trusted their process. It honestly felt like they would do anything possible to take money from me. On top of all that, the front door camera they installed doesn’t even work. This company caused me stress and disappointment. Honestly I wouldn’t advise anyone to work with ADT while there are other companies that are way better that.

Warning for ADT Home Security – Misleading Pricing and Terrible Customer Service I had a very frustrating experience with ADT Home Security in Arizona. When I called, I was told the equipment would cost $650, but after installation the equipment alone cost $3,660, plus $61 per month for monitoring — totally different from what I was told. On top of that, when I tried to get clarification by phone, I was stuck on the line for over 2 hours, transferred through 11 different agents, and had to repeat my story again and again with no resolution. I was also locked into a 5-year contract that was never clearly explained before installation. The salesperson did not disclose the true costs or terms upfront. Based on my experience, I strongly advise other homeowners to get EVERYTHING in writing, including total costs, monthly fees, and contract length before agreeing to any installation. My experience was confusing, expensive, and stressful — and I do not recommend ADT’s service or sales practices.

Absolutely the worst security company I’ve ever dealt with. ADT’s customer service is trash, the contract feels fraudulent, and the technicians are clearly not properly trained. The system is constantly updating and never works. The old system worked fine—this one is garbage. I’ve only been with ADT for four to five months and they’ve had to come back multiple times because nothing works consistently. When you call for help, they don’t want to fix anything—they just want your money. The staff is rude, nasty, and completely unprofessional. This company is a joke. The equipment is terrible. The service is disgusting. Do yourself a favor and do not use ADT unless you want nonstop frustration and regret. and I really shouldn’t gave them a star. It should be zero stars.

If you ever try and cancel your services good luck. I was on the phone for exactly 1 hour and 14 minutes. What they don’t tell you is you get billed for 30 more days after you cancel. This company is a joke please pick someone else. I sold my house and that process can fall through so I do not cancel things until it’s official. Pretty much ADT will charge you for services that they are not even going to provide you. Please stay away from this company at all cost. There are better ones out there. I also removed all ADT equipment from my house and told the buyer to use a different company.

We bought our house last summer, and there was already an ADT system installed by the previous owners. The day we moved in, an ADT salesperson came by and told us the system came with the house and that we just needed to transfer the service into our names. I politely said no, we already had a Ring system we liked and planned to use. He then said we could "try out" the ADT system for a few months to compare and see which one we preferred. That sounded reasonable, so we agreed. After a few months, it was clear the ADT system wasn’t for us. The cameras were terrible, the motion sensors are pointless, the glass break sensors go off for every little sound, everything just was terrible. I went ahead and reinstalled all of my Ring equipment and called ADT to cancel, just like the salesperson said I could. That’s when I found out the truth...the salesperson had signed me up for a THREE YEAR contract. I spent hours on the phone with ADT trying to get this resolved, but no one was helpful. The only way out was to pay over $2,000 to cancel which is completely outrageous for equipment I’m not even using. So now I’m stuck in a contract I didn’t knowingly agree to, paying for a system that’s collecting dust. To top it off, one night the alarm actually went off (I wasn't home thank God), ADT called me, and they said they were sending the police. The police never showed up. So even in an actual emergency, ADT failed to deliver. Bottom line: DO NOT use ADT. The sales tactics are shady, the equipment is junk, and when you really need help, they’re nowhere to be found. This company is a trap, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
