Apache lake is beautiful and the resort has clean rooms (basic) with great lake views!! In summer the resort sells out on weekends. Reserve early!

We didn't know it's a private resort when we drove back there pulling a 25 ft boat. You have to pay $30 to launch your boat. It's 8 miles back on a single lane road to get to a Tonto pass area. We decided it's was too much in one day to drive back to Burnt Coral to launch. That evening we decided to try out the restaurant. I got the chicken tacos. I like salty food but it was so salty I could not eat it. My husband got the fish tacos, they were good. They should say on the website that it's private and you'll have to pay just to park.

We had a blast! Not sure what luck we had but we were catching like crazy! In 2 days we C&R 19 channel cats, 1 beautiful carp, and about 12 perch/sunfish/bluegills. Already reserved our room this time months in advance. Bringing our 1 month old. But the camping was great. The service was great. We were happy campers.
