Black Rock Coffee Bar - Gilbert

I had a terrible experience at the San Tan Mall Black Rock location yesterday.. this one was closer to my rental anyways and I needed something to give me energy. I got one of their Festive Fuel Energy Drinks, and it was delicious. More importantly, the girl who took my order actually seemed like she wanted to be there. Yay — being nice is priceless. I’ll be back.

I’m really disappointed with the service I received at Black Rock Coffee . When I pulled up to the drive-thru, the employee at the window, Mariah, asked for my phone number for rewards. She couldn’t hear me the first time, and instead of simply asking again or trying to clarify, she got visibly frustrated . Then, she actually walked away from the window and didn’t finish checking me out after I called her out on it. As a regular customer who spends around $10 per visit, I expect to be treated with basic respect and to receive the rewards points I earn. I come to Black Rock often because I enjoy the drinks and usually have great service, but this experience with Mariah was completely unprofessional and disappointing. I hope management addresses this so other customers don’t have the same issue.

Walked in to this location shortly after 5 am. That's when they open. Some weird guy in front of me who either wasn't helped yet either or worse...he actually works there. Female employee serving the drinks made eye contact with me and turned away without greeting. Waited 2 minutes longer to see if heads would be pulled from dark cavities. No hope. So I walked out. Priest/ Ray location has a staff that rocks it. This location has a staff that screams 'we don't want to serve you' without saying a word. And it all starts with the leadership in the store. Get it together ppl. If you are not able to serve customers at opening time then open later or just stop opening until you replace the staff.

I asked about any Veterans Day deals at the drive thru and was told there was a free drink with any purchase today. I ordered a ham and cheese sandwich and a large blondie. Should have been around $6 total. She charged me full price at $12. I told her playfully that it’s a really expensive ham sandwich. The concerning part is she agreed with me and said yes it’s a $12 dollar sandwich. I was too amazed to press the issue. I’m not a confrontational Vet. A small part of me wanted to climb through the window and head to the front desk to question the order BUT we should show others with mental disabilities kindness. Much love to my fellow Vets today. I came in to read and study for a bit before work and there was empty seats and no line. Shoutout to whoever does the playlist-the music was an absolute vibe! For mobile orders, there's a shelf right up by the cash register . There's couches, high tables, long tables, and barstools. Definitely a good place to study, read, or just catch up with friends. I always get the large iced regular Sunrise Fuel with coffee cake. As always, an amazing experience.
