Carolina's is a true staple in the OG South Phoenix neighborhood!! a definite must-visit! Their tortillas are made fresh daily, and you can absolutely taste the difference. The burritos are huge, packed with flavor, and very reasonably priced for the portion size. If you're feeding a big appetite, this is the spot. One of my favorite things is that you can buy their tortillas by the dozen. They're the oversized kind we call "sobaqueras" in Sonora, named for their size and the traditional way they're made. They're perfect for making your own burritos at home. Personally, I prefer the green chile over the red. The red chile felt like it was missing a bit of flavor for my taste, but that doesn't take away from how much I support this place. Carolina's has been part of our community for years. If you grew up in Phoenix in the '90s, this spot hits you with pure nostalgia the smell of fresh flour tortillas, just like the ones your mom or abuelita used to make. Let's keep it low key... IYKYK

First time here. I ordered the Carne asada burrito and a dozen fresh made tortillas. The burrito was delicious and massive. The pack of tortillas were still warm. The staff was friendly and efficient. I took it to go but would eat on site.

Very good food. We went at 10:00 AM for breakfast burritos (breakfast foods available until 10:30) but they wouldn’t make us a chorizo/eggs breakfast burrito because breakfast time was “almost over”. The clerk wasn’t very kind about it. However, you could order a chorizo burrito from the lunch menu, but no eggs in it, so it was hard to understand why no chorizo breakfast burrito… The food tasted very good, clean but bare bones dining area (think white walls, concrete floor, folding tables and chairs). Looks ghetto outside, maybe a scary part of town. But they get a lot of business because they’ve been there for so long and the food is good.

The enchiladas are fantastic. I have had several different varieties now and I have always devoured them. The staff are always friendly and upbeat, you can tell they're good with people. It feels very open and welcoming. You can easily go with friends and family, but it's also great for a team lunch at work (I've done both). It's got sort of a lively cafeteria vibe. There is tons to choose from on the menu and it's all really reasonably priced. Expansive drink selection, from alcohol to tea to pop. Only complaint is the Styrofoam; makes it hard to cut into things without punching through the bottom.

The service and atmosphere was great but the quality of the food especially for the price (it was still inexpensive, but should have been even cheaper for what it was) was not good. I love Mexican food and would not eat here again. Got the cheese enchiladas and the only good thing I have to say about it, is that it was edible. The bean cheese and potato burrito was just a boiled potato with some refried beans and a little cheese in a tortilla and very underwhelming. Maybe we came at an off time on an off day because they were very busy and were recommend by coworker.
