Century Room

Great place to enjoy some good jazz music! Great selection of cocktails. Very lovely old school style classy place without pretension but with all the ambiance, charm, and aura fitting of a jazz venue.

The Century Room has brought the true blue jazz listening club to Tucson. Having lived in San Francisco in the 70’s, I had access to numerous venues for listening to some of the greatest jazz produced in that decade. The Century Room’s ambiance, service, prices, food and variety of musical talent in Tucson reminds me of the intimate jazz club settings from my days in San Francisco. I love the idea of a native desert them featuring mezcal. The ambiance is inviting and comfortable, uniquely stylish without being pretentious. I have enjoyed up front views of a wide variety of bands and solo jazz oriented artists of varying excellence, but always enjoyable. A night out at the Century Room is always a memorable experience. Anyone looking for a nice night out listening to jazz in a setting where the musicians are the top draw should visit.

My partner and I went to the opening show at Century Room, and we continue to go as often as possible. The cocktails and bar snacks are delicious. The music, from Duke Ellington's Nutcracker Suite, to Gypsy Jazz, to the American songbook, is all a delight. The musicians who show up to play in this small club are the best in the world. We appreciate that fellow listeners are there, indeed, to listen. How lucky we are to have the Century Room in Tucson. Thank you to Arthur, Paul, and all the bartender servers and musicians who have created this amazing space to enjoy music.

The Century Room is one of the best Jazz clubs in the country, bar none! If you’re looking for a night out w/some vintage “city energy” but nestled into Tucson, I highly recommend. The owner is a world-class Jazz musician himself who modeled the club after the iconic Village Vanguard in Manhattan’s West Village, and it has that feel. Not to mention the artists being booked on weekends are frequently world-renowned, nationally touring acts that otherwise wouldn’t come to this market frequently. The cocktails and Mezcal are amazing to boot. The staff is sharp, and the host Paul is an absolute gem of his own - come hang and you’ll see for yourself! Can’t gush enough about this place - one of the best!

I heard the music playing while walking back to the hotel. The doorman was so kind and friendly. He invited me in and found me a seat at the bar. The show was great and so was the non alcoholic Guiltless Gimlet. Very cozy spot. Tucson's downtown is really nice with large security presence so walking at night felt very safe. 👌🏽
