5/5 Beautiful park with bathrooms , pool, duck pond, baseball fields, basketball. Absolutely stunning at night.l, well maintained. There are some homeless folks who sleep there. The pond is gorgeous at night.

⭐️⭐️ Cortez Park is a mixed bag. During the day it’s actually pretty nice. There’s a stocked lake with people fishing, a water park for kids, and a few baseball fields that keep it lively. But once the sun goes down the atmosphere changes fast. I saw an older man trying to buy meth from someone who was fishing and it turned into a scuffle right in front of me. After that I decided to keep my distance. Good spot for a daytime visit but I wouldn’t recommend hanging around after dark.

Nice park, 3 acres, lots of ducks and geese, stocked pond for residential fishing. (Must have fishing license- see sign in picture for more details) Big playground, basketball court, tennis court, 2 baseball diamonds, lots of walkways, & open space. Started with a 4 ⭐, but had to change to 5 ⭐ due open view of skyline during sunrise.

I visited the park to fish in the evening and it was solemn and relaxing. There were turtles in the lake and ducks as well. What I wasn't too thrilled about was the amount of debris and trash at the east end of the lake. Last but not least, there is a nice size water park at Cortez equipped with two slide tubes and diving boards. Nice place.

It’s so nice to have a public space here like this, just wish it was better taken care of. The canal water kills the fish because of an alga. Two Parks and Recreation trucks were parked on a park path today, chatting with each other for almost an hour, and I wondered why they weren’t cleaning up the dead fish and garbage and goose poop. The pond is in a pretty unsanitary condition.
