When my wife and I hired Desert Foothills Landscaping in May, 2024 we expected we were getting a top notch company with the expertise to keep our yard in excellent shape. Unfortunately we were completely wrong. This company is nothing but a corporation that does not care a whit about its customers; only about money. In the beginning they pretend to care about your yard with the Supervisor Carlos Beltran as the salesman. At the end of our time with them, Carlos Beltran would not return my phone calls, nor would he do what he promised he would do. We paid the extra amount every month for the “advantage” plan, but the advantage was to to the company not us. The extra cost for that plan was to include irrigation checks twice a year. When Desert Foothills did not contact us to schedule the second irrigation check, I contacted supervisor Beltran who said the work had been done, which was not true. Finally his partner advised that it was not scheduled because they were too busy at Desert Mountain. When the crew of two finally came out, they were at the house for less than 20 minutes. They walked around speaking Spanish to each other and laughing making no effort to communicate with me. The biggest insult was the butchering of our Mesquite and Ironwood Trees. I contacted Carlos Beltran to see whether his crew would trim some shoots off the Ironwood and some dead branches off the Mesquite. He said, in one of the few times there was contact, that he would tell the crew chief about what I wanted. When the crew chief arrived I asked if Carlos had told him about trimming the trees and he said no. I then told him what I wanted done and left him at the Mesquite Tree and went inside. When I came back out less than five minutes later he had butchered the Mesquite by cutting off the entire front of the canopy. There was a pile of fresh branches which he had cut laying on the ground in front of the tree. Even when I yelled at him to stop he continued to cut healthy branches. The photo below shows the tree today as it has looked since then, and shows where the front of the canopy was cut off. They also cut numerous limbs off the Ironwood that I did not ask to be removed and did not want removed. When I brought this to the attention of the supervisors there was neither an apology nor any attempt to reimburse us for the damage done to the tree. In 2021 we spent $1,500.00 to move the tree and an additional $500.00 to try to save the tree after the butcher job done by DFL. Our arborist told us that since the front canopy was destroyed, the tree does not have any protection and the tree is continuing to die off. We are in the process of obtaining the information needed to sue DFL. We were also amazed that the workers rummaged through our garbage cans while at our house. Our camera captured their employee rummaging through the can as shown in the photo. We sent the video to Carlos Beltran and once again he refused to reply and there was no real authentic or genuine response other than advising that the workers would be spoken to. Thankfully we made the decision to terminate their services refusing to pay for the last month to make up for the extra money wasted in the “advantage plan.” I strongly recommend staying away from this company and its unprofessional and less than honest employees.

Planning and executing a landscape design is one thing. Keeping plants properly maintained and healthy over the years is another. The crew of Desert Foothills Landscape has a challenging situation in our neighborhood, trying to rectify years of poor management by other landscape companies. They are hampered by HOA budget restraints, and there is never enough time to accomplish all the goals, yet their performance is of high quality. Jerry in particular should be commended for his work ethic. He is very knowledgeable, with many years of experience. He is courteous and takes pride in his work.

I have been a client of Desert Foothills Landscape (DFL) for 19 years. In that time their landscape design team has relandscaped our entire 2 acre property which has been the envy of folks visiting our home. Over the years DFL has been our landscape designer and installer as well as providing weekly maintenance service. During storms they have always been there when we needed them and during quieter times they have always looked to improve the look of our property. We owe a great deal of thanks for making the property the envy of our relatives ....

The Desert Foothills Landscape Team is fantastic! They take great care of their clients and vendors, and the process & final projects they produce are exceptional. If you're in the Scottsdale area, they should be your go-to for your Landscaping project and to maintain your property.

Two years ago I submitted a Google review for the exceptional work the team at Desert Foothills Landscape completed, transforming my ho hum back yard into my own private desert sanctuary. This year I decided to contact them again because I wanted their special WOW Factor to transform the entrance to my driveway. Once again their design team and professional workforce exceeded my expectations. Designer Marc Vargas made every step of the process seamless and stress free. If you want the best in service, design, implementation and satisfaction, don’t hesitate to contact Marc and his team. WOW!
