Desert Horizons Park

Good, clean park. Perfect for morning jog and stroll around the neighborhood. I came around 7am and it wasn’t too hot yet, but quickly got hotter around 8am. Well groomed lawns and no garbage in the area. Nice!

They have restrooms without stall doors. Clean though and had toilet paper. They had two playgrounds, one for toddlers and one for older kids. The walkways of the playground are very spacious so a few little kids can walk through. There’s a couple of places that are pad locked due to the playground being old and being beat up. Would be cool for Pokémon go players as well.

Running with stroller: 4/5 You can easily run the perimeter of the whole park without issue. Plenty of space, 1 full circle (square) is a bit less than a mile. Playground: 4/5 nice play structures, though a few aspects of the big kid playground has been roped off for at least 2 years, they have fixed parts of it though. The shade structures cover the playground but not all day long. The big kid slides get a ton of afternoon sun and can be too hot to use unless it's cool outside. There's also a water spout in the sand, so if anyone has discovered it that day your bound to have a kid playing in the mud, plan accordingly. The playground area also has a side walk perimeter so it's great for kiddos learning to ride bikes, especially if you need to keep an eye on a bike rider while another plays in the sand. Grassy areas: So much grass and different areas to run, play sports and generally frolic. Great fun. Bathrooms: No stall doors but decently clean

Playground equipment is great for kids. Please just put doors on the bathroom stalls. A changing table would be amazing too.

It’s an amazing park nearby. Best place for evening walks, multiple designated pathways with enough exercise n sitting benches on the way. It has huge kids play area with lots of swings n slides. Also there’s a big baseball ground, basketball court. Ample parking spots and enough lights in the evening.
