When I tell you Jim was a life saver. I would give him a hundred stars if I could. There is a reason he been in business over 35 years, he is honest. I was quoted 2,000 for a job that was a 4 hour job and he cut my price in half. Honest, fast service, clean shop and get work. He got my car running smooth and great. You won't find better service then this. Absolutely fantastic service. He will treat you right.

I own and am restoring a 1993 Jeep Cherokee. The owner of Phoenix Auto Works is Jim. He took care of bringing my Jeep up to standards after it failed to pass emissions. Jim diagnosed the problem and had it fixed within a day. His rate for doing so was very reasonable and he took my Jeep through emissions where it passed with flying colors. He also advised me regarding further work that needed to be done that was covered by warranty at another facility. So he didn't take advantage of me like some would have done. Jim is extremely knowledgeable and does good work. I will definitely be returning to Phoenix Auto Works for further engine restoration on my Jeep.

Jim and Ray, the two gentleman I interacted with, were outstanding. They provided excellent service at the fairest price I could find anywhere in town. Jim and his team have won over my future business and I strongly recommend them to anyone in the valley looking for quality, honest business. They were quick to see me, up front about pricing and parts, and very punctual; I was in and out in only a couple days (including the weekend). It’s difficult these days to find mechanics that actually do what they say, but my initial experience with Phoenix AutoWorks has been one with zero complaints. 10/10, strongly recommend, go see Jim for your auto repairs!

These guys may have 5 star reviews unfortunately that is not case for us. We needed our timing chain replaced but our regular mechanic does not do this work -we were referred to these guys. We dropped off the car and we provided timing chain kit. There was an array of parts including 2 sprockets. We asked them to use what was needed and to put the rest of the parts back in the box and leave it in the car. They seemed so nice and experienced- we left feeling that our car was in good hands. Unfortunately the sprockets in the kit did not fit so we had to find the right ones asap! Lucky for us we were able to get the 2 sprockets but had to order them online. We dropped them off and told them to please put the unused sprockets from the kit back in the box as we needed to return them. 2 days later we picked up the car -they requested cash payment to not charge us tax- after we paid and had one foot outside the door this guy says "oh yeah--since you brought the parts to us there would be no warranty. They should have told us about this in the beginning before any work was done so we could decide what to do. We left with the car and parked it in the carport. The next morning we went to get the box of unused parts but there was no box no parts Ok that's first issue next my husband saw oil drips under the car in the driveway. He was very concerned he always checks the car after any repair work and good thing because he found oil running from the oil pan. He found EVERY screw loose I mean loose you could just pull them out by hand. When my husband saw this he checked both valve covers and all their screws were just as bad. He had to make quite a few turns on each screw they were so bad. When he looked further he discovered 3 vacuum hoses without clamps and barely attached. One loose screw maybe but all of them? Oil running from oil pan-a lot of oil. And all vacuum hoses loose and missing the clamps? What are the odds that someone just "forgot" or was distracted ? I'm pretty sure most mechanics -good ones anyway- check their work again once finished. I called to ask for the missing parts. I was told that the guys were at lunch and they were going to look for them and call me back. No call so I called the next day and was told that they had to "look for them" and assured me that they were going to call me back. Ok really lost parts? Now when I call they don't answer the phone! So dissatisfied disappointed and now pissed off. We were going to have more work done but not anymore and I will also file a complaint with the better business bureau!!

I’ve been coming to James now for the better part of 2025. He’s done various jobs on my car and he’s been just a pleasure every time I go. Came in for a full engine replacement and he did such a good job with my Lexus rx330. I feel grateful to have found him and phoenix Autoworks, I highly recommend them!!
