Absolutely enjoyed going and visiting this place. They had lots of authentic equipment and a lot of small things that you can do but it definitely makes for a whole day trip if you want to spend the time panning for gold. I definitely enjoyed doing that and I probably a couple hours doing it. Going into the mine and having some understanding of what they do there was also quite enlightening. And then they have a small train ride and they give some basic understanding of the area and the mining activities that went on there. Oh yeah and they have a great story about the unknown miner and why he's buried there under a big old rock.

Goldfield Ghost Town is a must-visit, especially for families! This well-preserved historic mining town is fun, educational, and full of character. Kids will love the old-west feel, the small train ride, and exploring the shops and exhibits, while adults can appreciate the history and mountain views. The town recreates life from the late 1800s during Arizona’s gold-mining era, and the displays make it easy to learn while having fun. Everything is walkable, making it perfect for families with younger kids. There are plenty of photo spots, snacks, and activities to keep everyone engaged. Pro tip: Visit in the morning before it gets too busy, and pair it with a stop at nearby Lost Dutchman State Park for a perfect half-day outing.

Goldfield Ghost Town was a great stop on our trip to AZ. I was impressed that there is no admission fee ($10 fee if you opt for train ride/history talk). We frequented every building, if the walls could talk, I'm sure we'd have heard many stories. The landscape around Goldtown was beautiful, the town itself is small and full of artwork, souvenir shops, a great hat shop, coffee cafe, jewelry & gems, a small museum w/ entry fee. The saloon was quite busy serving up lunch & cocktails (try their cactus pear margarita) and had live music. On the weekends you can watch an old town shoot out. I definitely recommend stopping to take in the beauty of Apache Junction and this historical town.

This was a great stop off on our way down the apache trail, especially if you have dogs (well behaved ones anyway), it's very dog friendly. The 'town' is really neat, old mining town/ghost town vibes. They offer lots of different attractions like train rides, mine tours, museums, old west reenactments and shops to purchase gifts, food etc. We purchased some beautiful jewelery from one shop and some really great, beautiful pottery from another gals shop. I look to support local talent with purchases that are actually useful, indicative of my personality and bring beauty to my daily life. I now have a stunning produce bowl, veggie tray, various coffee mugs with adorable honey bees on them and a couple decorative pieces that wonderfully reflect me as a market gardener and avid morel mushroom hunter to take back to the homestead (and each piece is signed by the artist!). The artist also gave me a discount for purchasing so much which was very kind and unexpected and she was so appreciative and sweet. Thank you!

Came here with my daughter who was visiting from the East coast and had so much fun! We did so much, the mine tour, panned for gold, checked out the Mystery Shack, road the train and enjoyed some lunch after checking out the shops! I will definitely be back! Thank you for a fun experience!
