The Harkins Theatre located off Bethany Home Road in Phoenix was a very pleasant surprise. I have frequented this area for many years and never realized a movie theater was tucked away behind the surrounding restaurants and buffet. It wasn’t until I accidentally made a wrong turn that I discovered the theater, conveniently located just behind Walmart and nestled in the Christown Spectrum Mall area at 1703 West Bethany Home Road, Phoenix, AZ 85015 (near the intersection of Bethany Home & 19th Avenue) — making it quite easy to find once you know where it is. I recently visited this theater to watch the second part of Wicked, which was surprisingly difficult to find showing in other nearby theaters. I was happy to see that this location had showtimes available. From the moment I walked in, the theater made a positive impression. The lobby and hallways were clean, well organized, and welcoming. The overall atmosphere felt comfortable and relaxed, making it a great place to enjoy a movie. The staff was professional, friendly, and efficient, which added to the positive experience. Restrooms were clean and well stocked, which is always appreciated. The concession area was another highlight—service was smooth, popcorn was hot and fresh, and everything was well presented. While this Harkins location does not offer the newer dine-in experience with food and drinks delivered to your seat, it still provides a classic and enjoyable movie-going experience. The seating was comfortable but not plush as in the newer theaters , and the theater was clean with good sound and screen quality. Overall, the Harkins Theatre on Bethany Home Road feels like a hidden gem in Phoenix. It offers a clean environment, professional staff, and a comfortable setting to enjoy current films. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone looking for a straightforward, enjoyable, and hassle-free movie experience. The only thing missing is the upgrades such as reclined plush seating, drinks and food delevirey.

I went to see the 1:20 PM showing for Wuthering Heights with my sister today. We had to leave early due to the ultra sexual and graphic depictions in the movie, and a very kind staff member gave us free vouchers for another movie instead. I appreciated that gesture. Unfortunately, an older man in our row behaved in a very inappropriate and intimidating manner toward my sister. Before the movie even started, he had approached me and was Grinning in a way that made me uncomfortable and directly stared into my eyes, and I tried to avert my eyes from him, and he just stood in front of me and stared at me. Furthermore, we were seated in theatre 5 or 6 (I can’t remember at the moment), row G, seats 8 and 9, with my sister in seat 9, placing her closest to him. He was in the same row as us but in the last two seats on the far right. He refused to move his feet from on top of the rail so she could pass, even though she urgently needed to exit. My sister politely said excuse me and even apologized, despite doing nothing wrong, yet he continued to block her path. His wife repeatedly tapped him on the arm, but he still refused. As young women, we felt extremely uncomfortable and vulnerable in this situation. His behavior made it clear we could not safely remain in the row. As my sister attempted to pass, he deliberately tripped her, causing her to lose her balance and fall onto the steps. She was able to catch herself, but it was frightening and unacceptable. He did not apologize and instead raised his voice and made a remark toward her. She did not respond or argue and immediately left the theater because she felt unsafe. I had to go find her, and we ultimately decided to go home. Throughout the time we were seated there, they would stare at us and make remarks whenever my sister returned to the row or shifted in her seat, which made us increasingly uncomfortable. Although I understand the theater cannot control individual patrons, this behavior was extremely concerning and should not be dismissed. Guests should be able to safely enter and exit their seats without being obstructed, intimidated, or physically interfered with. I hope appropriate steps are taken to address this situation and ensure guest safety. I would appreciate a direct response from management confirming that this incident is being reviewed and that steps will be taken to prevent similar situations. I respectfully request that management provide a substantive and meaningful response rather than a generic or automated reply. Thank you.

I like coming to this place; they always treat us well. But the person who tried to humiliate us by complaining to the manager so that they would kick us out, simply because my son is autistic and uses a communication tablet, is truly unacceptable. However, the manager was very respectful and gave me the opportunity to explain my son's condition and why he needs to use his tablet to express himself. Thank you for that. But it's a shame that there are still gossipy people, unhappy with their own lives, who wanted to ruin ours, and thankfully, they didn't succeed.

My family and I went to watch zootopia 2 and the movie was great 👍 However what’s up with this location allowing people to bring in big backpacks into the movies. Do you guys fully check if there are weapons… like common increase the security at this location. Also , we had an incident of kicking behind our chairs like common we paid to watch the movie and yet they don’t flag people for kicking your chairs mind you the people behind us was a full grown adult with no manners or common sense along with his two daughters . My family and I will no longer come here due to safety and no regulations at this location .

Came here with family to watch Five Nights at Freddy's 2. I was walking around with a walker at the time, seated one row above the accessible row on the end of the row and it wasn't too bad getting into my seat. I had to walk backward up two steps but it was manageable. My knee is immobilized in a brace so I was able to stick it out straight.
