Harkins Tempe Marketplace 16

My boyfriend and I love going to this Harkins theatre in Tempe. They have reclining seats, free parking, plenty of show times for movies, and I like the matinee prices. The service is always quick and friendly too. You can also dine at one of the restaurants nearby before or after a movie like Cold Stone Creamery is next door and an excellent pizza shop. Will be back!

At harkins concessions workers keep a dishrag at their registers which they use to wipe down the counters in between customers. Multiple times over the years I have seen them take these filthy disgusting rags and use them to WIPE DOWN THE LIDS AND RIMS of customer’s drinks. The last time I saw this I left the line. They did it again to mine last night before I could stop them; I threw out my drink. Perhaps the teenage workers don’t know better, but I’ve seen it often enough to think it’s not sufficiently discouraged by management. I like these theaters but I would not order hot food or anything you cannot directly see them preparing/handling. And watch your drinks!

I saw the new Avatar movie and it was fantastic. The Tempe Marketplace Harkins Theater is a great place to see movies. We saw the movie in the large theater with awesome sound. The seating is very comfortable and the concession stand is wonderful. It was great experience.

First of all, I was impressed with both the usher greeting us (Kenny, I believe) and the concession staff (Isac). Both were professional, friendly and genuinely seemed to enjoy their work. What a great introduction to our afternoon. I was also impressed with the cleanliness of the restroom. That’s a definite indication of attentive employees and managers who care. The theatre was clean and the sound and screen were exactly what I was hoping for. Later, when I returned to concession, it was a bit busier and there were some minor delays with hot food items being prepared in a timely fashion. However, they did get the food items out to each guest and apologized for the wait. Even with that, I’m rating them a 5. It was a Saturday afternoon & they handled it.

10/19/25 at approximately 10 pm ish. Register on the left. The cashier was a young adult with dark brown hair in long pig tails, long fake eyelashes, heavy set, was really rude and not professional. I was polite and she made me feel like my order was a major inconvenience to her. I couldn’t hear what she said and she got annoyed and took a big sigh. The woman who helped me purchase tickets was good and professional.
