At check in around 1 pm room was not ready and a little bumpy start scared me that I made wrong choice. All turned around. All the staff was outstanding. Room was great. Atmosphere quiet and romantic. Grounds with fire pits everywhere outstanding. The Lons restaurant and bar cannot be beat anywhere in phoenix area. Will be back.

We have been venturing to phoenix 1-2 times in Jan/Feb for the past dozen or more years and have tended to sample all sorts of luxury properties. For this years long weekend we opted to return to this beautiful boutique property after a 4-year hiatus. After revisiting (and being blessed with mild 75 and sunny weather this year), my nomadic ways may be at an end. Our 3/ night stay in room 150 was superb. We continue to love the spacious room, huge shower, gas fireplace and large comfortable leather easy chairs. I’m please to report there is ample bedside power (my note from the previous review) but sadly still the same crummy shower head. This place is an oasis of tranquility with lush colorful grounds, and a fantastic on site restaurant that attracts a big crowd most every night. For our most recent visit I called to let them know my wife would be arriving early and they somehow were able to work out an early check-in which really helped us out ! Thanks Deanne! When we start planning our visit for next January-the Hermosa will be at the top of my list.

The Hermosa Inn should be a wonderful place to visit. It has all of the parts to be. But the execution is just not there. The rooms are charming and well appointed (though I agree with others that the bed linens could use an upgrade), but the service is well below where is should be, starting with check-in. At this price point, I expect a little more nuance, and a lot more courtesy. While the food was very tasty, there were errors and/or missing items in every single dish ordered from the restaurant over the course of our 3 day stay. The wait staff were courteous, albeit awkward at times. Again, it is seemingly the execution that lacks here.

I have been to the Hermosa Inn multiple times historically. If you're eating in their restaurant as a one-off dinner or eating in the bar, the food is good but overpriced. The drinks are good but overpriced. You're really paying for the environment. There was an event that was a special private event where you paid $275 for a ticket to see Esteban that included dinner. The event was set up well, however the servers didn't know what they were doing, I asked for butter and one brought me cream cheese. Along with this I also was lucky enough to get food poisoning. I called and left multiple messages for the food and beverage manager John Dills. He called me back once, left a voicemail, and has since not returned my telephone calls. I had respectfully requested to be compensated for the food poisoning dinner, as my companion who was there did not have food poisoning and had a different dish. To not even receive a return telephone call only speaks to the additional lack of service that is being provided by the Food and Beverage Department. Beautiful location, but I will never eat there again. Too bad, as I used to go there at least three or four times a year.

I've gone there for many years. Been awhile since been there. They moved the outdoor seating area. Doesn't have the same views. Food was decent. Waitress was ok; didn't feel comfortable with her. Overall, vibe not the same.
