High Country Motor Lodge

High Country Motor Lodge is my go-to local spot. There are so many good things to say…it’s more than a hotel, it’s an experience. As a guest: rooms were super cute, vintage like, and clean. Checkin/out was seamless. Sauna rental: adorable with private saune for 2, clean robes and towels waiting for you along with a cooler filled with fresh still & sparkling water and some electrolytes. Outside the saune is your own private fire pit with 2 heater benches. And in the warmer months, an outdoor shower to rince. The hot tub temp is always perfect…and some nights I book just to float in the jacuzzi after and star gaze. The bar/cafe: super friendly staff. Foods always consistent and delicious. Grab a bite and go sit around a fire pit in the patio on a cool night. I also come in regularly just for a good coffee with my dog. Love everything about this place (including their occasional concerts on weekday evenings). Definitely check it out!! one of Flagstaff’s multi-experience gems.

I definitely enjoyed my stay here. Every staff member was super friendly. The hotel itself was cute and well maintained. I only gave 4 stars because there’s no transportation to or from the airport. Also, they had pour over coffee for your room which was great! Except they had run out of the creamer to go with it by our second day in.

We loved this MOTEL! The common areas were inviting, warm and cozy while still being fun and comfortable with kids. They spaces were clean the staff was lovely and attentive without being on top of you and the rooms were perfect. Even the in room coffee and shower products were clean and fantastic. I wouldn’t recommend staying anywhere else if you’re in flagstaff. The High Country Motor Lodge is a can’t miss experience in itself. Go enjoy with the kids or with your hubby for a date night away. Pretty basic pros cons list here. To summarize, I think it’s slightly overpriced, though it is overall a nice location that is probably one of the more charming hotels in flagstaff to stay. If you like more of a personality in the places you stay, then this checks the boxes. If you just want a place to board yourself in which the value aligns with your needs of a safe, clean, enjoyable place, maybe look elsewhere that doesn’t charge extra for the vibes. Pros: Pretty good location downtown Nice staff, including cleaning staff Clean Big rooms with instagram worthy details Fun amenities like a plunge pool and a family room, a general store (RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED GOODS, coffees were about normal) Safe Charming Cons: Overpriced for what you get unless you realllyyyy like the amenities. I found the amenities to always be used, and people had kids running around the game room without consideration for others which meant we never got to enjoy some of the things we would have enjoyed otherwise. Very loud room. We could hear everything above, next to, and in front of us. To be fair, we got a bad room location right st the bottom of a staircase They don’t have basic items up front like normal hotels - no toothbrush, no comb, etc. They point you to a general store. If we wanted a toothbrush and toothpaste, it would have been $25. Absurd. Do better for the price you are paying. It’s a luxury price The room was huge but very dark. It was charming but poor lighting

Overall, the hotel wasn't bad. Here are some of my experiences: 1. On the night of check-in, we requested assistance with our baggage because there were no elevators. The hostess told us that someone would meet us by our staircase near our room, but nobody was there. 2. The rooms could accommodate four, however they are pretty small and did not allow much room for the kids to play. We fit comfortably, but I do wish there was more space in the room. 3. The aesthetics of the lobby and inside the room was adorable. Lots of activities for the family in the lobby as well.
