High Country Motor Lodge

Overall, the hotel wasn't bad. Here are some of my experiences: 1. On the night of check-in, we requested assistance with our baggage because there were no elevators. The hostess told us that someone would meet us by our staircase near our room, but nobody was there. 2. The rooms could accommodate four, however they are pretty small and did not allow much room for the kids to play. We fit comfortably, but I do wish there was more space in the room. 3. The aesthetics of the lobby and inside the room was adorable. Lots of activities for the family in the lobby as well.

We loved this MOTEL! The common areas were inviting, warm and cozy while still being fun and comfortable with kids. They spaces were clean the staff was lovely and attentive without being on top of you and the rooms were perfect. Even the in room coffee and shower products were clean and fantastic. I wouldn’t recommend staying anywhere else if you’re in flagstaff. The High Country Motor Lodge is a can’t miss experience in itself. Go enjoy with the kids or with your hubby for a date night away. Came here for a trip with my boyfriend on MLK weekend. It’s located in a somewhat walkable area to downtown Flagstaff (20-30 minute walk depending on where you’re headed). We loved the fire pits and the beds were comfy. There’s a small kitchenette area in the bathroom with an electric kettle and fridge. I also loved all the fun drinks and snacks the general store provided although a bit overpriced but that was expected. We requested a poolside room which I would definitely recommend so you’re facing the hotel lawn and not an apartment complex next door. Only con was the cleanliness of the rooms. When I accidentally dropped my necklace on the ground, I went on the ground to grab it under the bed and there was a solid amount of dust under both beds. Other than that, they were generally clean and cozy. The gym is quaint with x1 treadmills, x1 elliptical, two bikes and some free weights! Overall a great weekend and I would come back.

4 start hotel with a no top sheet policy. Saving the planet one sheet at a time I guess?. Unbelievable. Bring you own top sheet! Pretty basic hotel amenities.... bottom sheet, top sheet, comforter and pillows. I guess fine stars means a top sheet hotel post COVID era.

High Country Motor Lodge is a tranquil retreat that exceeded my expectations. The property has a peaceful atmosphere that made my stay incredibly relaxing, though it’s worth noting you can hear some traffic at night given its close proximity to Route 66. The rooms are impressively clean and spacious, with updated fixtures and modern amenities that make for a very comfortable experience. The on-site general store was a pleasant surprise—offering delicious coffee and snacks that made mornings easy and enjoyable. The meals onsite were next level and delicious! The staff here deserves special recognition. They are among the friendliest bunch I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying with, making me feel genuinely welcomed throughout my visit. Another standout feature was the sauna and cold plunge rotation, which I enjoyed both evenings—a thoughtful touch that added a spa-like feel to my stay. As a dog owner, I also appreciated that the property is dog friendly with few restrictions and no size limits, making it an easy choice for travelers with pets. All in all, High Country Motor Lodge blends comfort, hospitality, and a unique sense of place. I will definitely be returning.
