Absolutely stunning view of the Colorado river curving dramatically around the canyon. The trail is 1.5 miles round trip from the parking lot to the overlook but it is easy and stroller friendly. In summers it will be hot with no shade so bring plenty of water and wear sun screen. Parking is $10 per car.. It's a must see natural wonder. Take plenty of pictures and make memories with your loved ones :)

The famous Horseshoe Bend, located near the town of Page, is a horseshoe-shaped meander of the Colorado River, situated about 10 kilometers downstream from the Glen Canyon Dam. Over millions of years, the Colorado River has carved an approximately 300 meters deep gorge into the sandstones, which were originally dunes of a prehistoric desert. A viewpoint on the plateau is accessible from a parking lot just off U.S. Highway 89 via a short footpath (less than a kilometer long). Access was originally free, but since April 2019, a parking fee of $10 per vehicle is charged. While the viewpoint was previously unpaved, it is now partially secured with a concrete viewing platform. This doesn't deter some daring visitors from climbing close to the cliffs for photos! The path to the viewing platform is wheelchair accessible. A visit is worthwhile, even though the restrooms, which are subject to the parking fee, are unfortunately not well maintained.

One of America’s greatest landmarks! This is worth time and money to see. My goal was to get here to take sunrise photos, but the ticket booth staff were over a half an hour late getting to work so I missed them. The line of cars at the gate by the time they got here was well out onto the main road. So if you’re hoping for sunrise photos, there is a chance your plans will be thwarted. Sunrise started happening at 6:45 and the sun started hitting the Grand Canyon around 7:10 AM. The crowds were crazy this early in the morning. By 7 AM there were seven tour buses and everyone, I kid you not, was sprinting down the trail to get sunrise photos at the viewing platforms. Trail is compacted dirt about four people wide. You can easily wear tennis shoes and possibly roll a wheelchair down this trail. There is a 10% grade coming back up so you might need help with that. Entrance fee is $10 cash or card. Bathrooms are vaulted toilets in concrete structures. I gave it four stars instead of five because of the late staffing issues. There were a lot of people that got up before the sun to get those sunrise photos.

Absolutely stunning views and scenery. Friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of parking and an easy, roughly 1-mile round-trip walk with two shaded rest stops if you need a break. There’s a small parking fee. It can get crowded, so go during the week or outside major holidays and tourist hours for the best experience. Public restrooms (out house style/pit latrines).

It is a very popular spot. There is a $10 fee for parking. Restrooms available. The walk to the overlook is about 1.5 miles. Day was cloudy and it had been raining. The Colorado river carved the majestic Navajo sandstone walls that stand 1,000 feet above it. Part of the main viewing platform has railings, but much of the rim is still unfenced. There are many spots to seat on the rocks and admire the steep drop, and also take great pictures. Impressive views of the river and canyon.
