The hotel is beautiful from the inside of didn’t expect no 5star hotel is a unique and very historical building plus the history to this location. Also having said this hotel is haunted is a plus! We stayed one night and me and my partner both had nightmares in this room couldn’t sleep after 2:30pm and our dreams were about the room! Pretty creepy!! Definitely recommend if you love the paranormal.

Great location, which is why we picked it. So glad we only booked one night, even though we would have stayed a second night if we had liked it more. We paid extra for a “Signature Queen” because it has a jacuzzi tub. The tub was wider, deeper, yet shorter than most tubs. Oh well. But the shower was only a rain style shower, which sprayed in many directions that it wasn’t supposed to and dripped random cold drops of water into the bathtub. There was no actual shower head, and the tub didn’t drain well. We had originally laughed and tried to ignore the VERY old/dated bedspread, but the shower was just lame and we didn’t stay a second night. We don’t mind older rooms, but a bedspread and a shower head are pretty cheap ways to seriously upgrade an old room to be decently comfortable. The cocktail lounge was awesome!

The location is the only plus about this hotel. The bar is shut down, the multiple WiFi networks outlined on the paper in the room don’t work, they don’t do housekeeping and there isn’t enough parking. Go to The Waterford instead. We’ve stayed there, it’s right across the street and so much nicer. My husband thought the Monte Vista was quirky, but it’s actually just run down. The parking was especially irritating. The staff take up the hotel guest parking lot, or at least that’s what the 18 year old kid working the check in told me. He gave me a map of parking garages a few blocks away. I asked why I would park in a garage a few blocks away so staff could park in the area I paid for, but it went over his head. I don’t think was firing on all cylinders. The bathroom does not have a sink and is awkwardly small. The sink is in the bedroom and I was grossed out to find the “body lotion” container half empty with the lid screwed off. Clearly someone has already used it and the hotel forgot to refill the container. I say they refill them bc I can see the line delineating where the conditioner has been continuously refilled. I also thought it was ironic that a dirty tip envelope was left in my room for housekeeping. Who would I be tipping? They don’t do housekeeping 😂🤣🤦♀️🤦♀️

I visited the Monte Vista recently and had a great time! The hotel rooms are clean and nicely done. The rooms are small and a little tight but the building is very well done and clean. The coffee in the morning is legit good! I will note that the wifi is not great, at least on the fourth floor. I had to do all my work in the lobby. Not a deal breaker for me. The 2 bars are fun and great service. My only slightly negative comment would be that not all of the front desk workers where super friendly. Overall, had a super fun time and would definitely return.

Rooms are stinky. LOUD party scene all night. There are two bars on the 1st floor under rooms. We were on the 4th floor and felt like we were in the bars, the music is so loud. The front desk attendants were very rude and acted like I was a pest just from checking in. I had read online that the hotel has a haunting history. She I attempted to ask the front desk lady she was extremely rude to me. Not helpful. Not friendly. The atmosphere at the hotel is very cool, but not worth the noise or rude front desk attendant. Also be prepared to pay for parking.
