Spacious room, resort has breathtaking views of the mountains. Bill’s Grill has excellent food. Where the resort lacks is hospitality. The room upon arrival was not properly cleaned. The mini fridge contained a foul odor of seafood from what I suspect was the previous party that stayed in the room. Room service had to properly clean the fridge after I made them aware. The phone when I called to make the front desk aware of the odor was caked with make up. During my stay in Tucson I purchased two bottles of liquor as gifts and asked if they could be shipped to my residence. After being told I could have the items shipped, when I went to the front desk to arrange my shipping I was told they would not ship. If you’re looking for 3 star experience and beautiful views this is a wonderful resort. Compared to other Lowe’s resorts we have experienced in Miami Beach and Arlington this location falls below expected standards. If you expect 5 star service look further

This is a resort from 1982 that brings to mind the phrase "aging gracefully." The rooms are large, and pleasantly decorated. The suites were poorly done though. Some of them were clearly tucked into odd spaces where the architect had some extra space, rather than deliberately placed. Our first room was a suite that I can only describe as being in the armpit of the building, where two wings intersected. We moved to a regular room, and that was great. The age shoes in things like patches in the stonework or worn bathroom tiles. Prices were reasonable. I thought the restaurant was pretty good. A good place for a nice family vacation.

We’ve been coming to the Loews Ventana for many years, and we could not be more pleased than we we were for a relaxing weekend. The newly renovated rooms are beautifully appointed and the bed and bedding were perfect. The pillows are the most comfortable hotel pillows we’ve ever experienced. The new ‘smart’ televisions are a welcome addition. The staff at check-in were extremely helpful and friendly. Our dinner in the bar was superb as was our breakfast at Canyon Cafe. Overall the resort made for a remarkable and memorable escape.

Did not feel like a luxury resort to me, although some minor modifications and better management probably would. The grounds are natural and beautiful and there's even a waterfall and hiking trails both inside the hotel grounds and right on the edge. The pool, hot tub and cold plunge area are nice but need to be a little more clean and maybe a little better maintained. The rooms had also been constructed in a way that feels unfinished if you look closely. The eating situation is not great. Currently there is one of their restaurants closed for renovation, and there were lines most days waiting even for a buffet, up to 20 minutes or more. The hotel does not even have basics like free coffee or tea for you in the lobby to get up and get in the morning as everything has to be ordered, paid for, and waited on. There is a small fridge in the rooms and coffee maker but no microwave. Particularly given the high prices for everything, it seems that making things easy for a relaxing vacation was not the priority. Indeed, On Christmas morning they funneled all of the customers who wanted to do their morning buffet into a windowless room in their conference center and made them wait more than a half an hour, presumably because of lack of staff as there were plenty of tables. Trying to go in and just take the buffet food out to the outside and enjoy the day was also a hassle as a special event was going on and every single empty table was reserved for that event and they would not allow their hotel customers to sit there unless they signed up to the $120 per person special event. This was even though there were dozens of tables available and were not filled for hours as the event did not even start until 11:00 a.m. Overall, just not great customer service in this regard. The staff was very nice though, and therefore I would just have to say this is management focusing on profit rather than making things easy for their customers. If your expectations are low, however, you could very much enjoy this place.

We have stayed several times at Ventana over the years. Last night was truly our worst experience by far. We wanted to take a night away from RV life so booked a room for Dec 30. A large part of our choice with this property is the setting and tranquility of the resort and grounds. We truly wanted the quiet since you never have that while in an rv park. We were woken long before 8 am by 2 barking dogs next door, which was highly disappointing and frustrating. This morning while trying to enjoy coffee from our patio room, the Saint Bernard next door stuck its face through the patio grate and started making noises at us so we had to retreat to inside. Not an ideal pet owner, but also another "pet friendly" intrusion into our enjoyment & stay. The likelihood of us returning again, especially at this price point, is unlikely. We will also share this negative info with others. Right now I feel like we would have been better off spending less & going to a chain hotel instead. All of the staff were wonderful, and we did enjoy some good food & drinks in the bar. The pepperoni pizza was better than expected!
