Popular tubing and swimming destination where dogs are welcome. Multiple access points along Bush Highway with swimming holes and sandy beaches.

Lovely hidden gem for a hot day. You'll see locals fishing, having picnics, or wading in the water to cool off. Huge parking lot and public restrooms. There's not much shade by the water to bring your own or be prepared to sit in the sun.

Refreshing, enjoyable, and scenic spot on the Salt River where you can fish, swim, paddleboard, raft, or kayak down the river. Plenty of parking midday on a weekday. Restrooms are pit toilets but adequate. No water. Rec Fee applies.

Phon D. Sutton Recreation Area feels like a secret desert oasis. The Salt River flows quietly through tall trees, and if you’re lucky, you might see wild horses grazing nearby. It’s peaceful, beautiful, and one of the best places in Arizona to slow down and reconnect with nature. 🌿🐎

Wonderful place for an outing. Whether for a picnic, walk along the river or fishing. And on a good day you get to see wild horses. Several trails along the river. Saw people fishing along the banks and off the rocks. Plenty of parking and easy access.
