Great park to visit and camp! Great services and space to spend the day or weekend with the family. Good water levels, even if quite low. Sticky mud on the beach. It's not a swimming lake, but it's water! There's fishing and boating, tubing etc. They rent jet skis and boats. Sell bait and some supplies.

Not a well-maintained park. It costs $25 just to PARK for one night; $50 if you want hook-ups. And I wouldn't park in that huge expanse of dirt if it was going to rain...MUD! I don't get why campgrounds use 200,000 watt lights on the outside of the bathrooms - they are visible from outer space! And ruins stargazing.

We drove quite a bit out of our way to come to this campground. We stayed in Lot 24 because it was near the bathroom and showers. Needless to say, they were both closed. This lot is also right next to all of the electrical panels. There is a constant humming coming from the main electrical so I heard the noise in this video all night until I put in ear plugs which I hate wearing. Our bed window was right next to all the panels. Did not see the host, yet they were in the close lot right next to us, yet our entry tag was on our truck window when we woke up. Only saving grace was our dog loving the water and the petroglyphs. Very expensive for no showers or restrooms, as well as, minimal sleep. Restroom near the cabins was open but shower was closed.

At 1200 acres and an elevation of 6000 Laymen Lake is a decent fishing lake with Largemouth bass, channel catfish, carp, and walleye. There are no restrictions on boat size. The average summer temperatures are in the 80’s and 90s for highs making this is very nice lake for skiing, family fun, or fishing. Lyman Lake is not far from other small fishing lakes. Well worth the drive if you want an opportunity to explore several lakes in the day and fish and relax.

Absolutely beautiful scenery. Cabin was very clean and worked well. No running water in the cabin but the showers and bathrooms weren't too far from our cabin. There was a water spigot across the walk from my cabin so I could still use water. The shop was well maintained and stocked. The rangers were friendly and Informative. The showers and bathrooms were cleaned every morning but checked every two hours to make sure they were kept up. So great job with that guys. The water was crisp which was great to get away from the heat of the day.
