Monterey Park

Used to be bigger before Phil Gordon gave about half of it to Saint Mary’s. It’s still a great little park. It would be better if the softball field weren’t locked up most of the time and the soccer field, which is pretty much reserved for Saint Mary’s weren’t locked up all the time…. By the way, the city still pays for maintenance on the park areas reserved almost exclusively for Saint Mary’s which seems a bit odd, but I suppose it could be worse, at least SMHS is a decent caretaker. Softball fields available only by arrangement. Soccer field possibly available by arrangement. Outdoor basketball court. Small area with tables and grills. Managed well by the city not overrun by transients. Great small urban park. Nice small kids area with elementary type equipment. Clean and very well maintained. Safe in a great area of town.

The grass was completely dead and the women's bathroom had no doors on the stalls. I was at an event there recently and even though the organizer reserved part of the field, we had to use a completely different part. One plus was the shade, the playground seemed very nice and a bit newer, and there were easily accessible garbage cans throughout. My biggest problem with this park was the women's restroom stalls having NO doors!

Clean, quiet, 2 difficulty levels with the kids playground. Minimal bathrooms but glad to have them.

Great multiple use park!!!

A hidden gem in Phoenix. Very well maintained. Street parking ample.
