Quintero’s “RETURN TO GLORY” This is an update to a review that was left Dec 2024, which was 0/5 stars. We paid ~$400 to play a course last year that looked as if the entire maintenance staff had been told to stop working for the previous month (overgrown tee boxes, burned out fairways, traps with no sand but dirt and rocks, and greens that were dead/dying and had chunks missing). On top of that, after a mid round run in with the now “infamous Marshall” who might have been the rudest golf course employee we’ve crossed paths with at any course harassing us about pace of play despite us waiting on every shot for the six-some! of (5) little kids and (1) their mom chaperone ahead of us, our group had written off every returning to this hell scape. Then at the end of the round, a bag kid clued us in to the fact that the course was going to announce it would be closing in 2025 for a massive renovation. Jump to Nov 2025, first week the course reopened and it was a night and day different experience start to finish. Reno included all new sand traps and new greens, and some refreshing changes to staff. Course was pure, bunkers are 10/10, the only reason this did not get 5/5 stars is because the greens still have some growing in - they were super soft and really slow, you’d leave footprints walking on them (by the PM round, you’d be putting through other people’s footprints). Suspect in the coming weeks maintenance will have them firmed up and running where they need to be. Played 36 in one day, with troon access pass rounds were $175 in AM and $121 in PM. Marshall Charlie/Jerry, massive improvements from the “infamous Marshall” whose name may or may not rhyme with Himmy (who is supposedly not welcomed back). Ashley & Hannah were incredibly professionally. Todd wales was helpful and attentive. The new ownership did a fantastic job - whoever is now running the show clearly has a vested interest in bringing this course back to life (with apparently some more improvements planned for the future which we are looking forward to) so a massive thank you to the new man behind the scenes!

I never had the opportunity to play before the renovation, however, right now Quintero is absolutely peak golf in the Phoenix area. It’s designed in a fun, fair and challenging way. The bunkers are absolutely beautiful with great white sand. The greens roll very well. They also give you cookies on the back 9, which is such a nice touch. I really hope they continue doing it. It’s so simple, but there’s something about feeling appreciated on a course as a customer and I love it cause of that. Quintero is the #1 public course right now in December 2025. I love it! The staff has always been really friendly and nice to me as well.

I’ve golfed all around the world, and this was easily one of the best golf experiences I’ve ever had. From the start, the attention to detail and professionalism stood out. The staff called us a few hours before our tee time to proactively inform us of a frost delay. Even though we had an afternoon tee time, it was clear they genuinely cared about making sure we were able to finish 18, something I really appreciated. When we arrived, we were greeted immediately by name, and every interaction after that was just as warm and professional. They even offered us an earlier tee time to help us get around the course, and went above and beyond by delivering food directly to us on the first hole since we were rushing to warm up and get settled. As for the course itself—absolutely pristine. The conditioning was flawless, and the design is nothing short of spectacular. Every hole felt intentional, scenic, and memorable. All in all, this was a world-class experience from start to finish. Huge thanks to the entire staff at Quintero Golf Club for making this such a memorable round. I can’t wait to come back.

Playing Quintero was a bucket list experience for me, and the drive out was absolutely worth it. Each hole offered a unique and picturesque challenge, with immaculate fairways and tee boxes that truly stood out. Pace of play was great and we didn’t see another group till about hole 16. The staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. I played just a week before the course closed for renovations, hopefully including updates to the bunkers and many of the greens. My only critique would be the bunkers, which were more gravel than sand, resembling those you’d find at a basic municipal courses. Plan ahead and arrive earlier than you think. The drive from the entrance to the practice facility and first tee is longer than expected. All in all, I highly recommend playing Quintero if you’re visiting Phoenix and can make the trip. It’s a memorable course and lives up to the hype!

Wow. Been trying to get here for years! Worth the wait. Staff was great. Course was pristine. We have the Troon access which reduced the price.
