♿ Rio Salado Park is one of the most 100% wheelchair accessible parks in the Valley, and it deserves recognition for doing accessibility right. The entire main path system is smooth, wide, and level, making it easy to navigate in both power and manual wheelchairs. There are no steep grades, broken pavement, or surprise obstacles, and the walkways are wide enough for two wheelchairs to pass comfortably. The bridges, ramps, and viewing areas are all designed with mobility devices in mind. The park offers accessible parking, curb ramps, and ADA-compliant restrooms, which are clean and easy to use. The picnic tables and shaded ramadas have wheelchair roll-under spaces, so you can sit comfortably without transferring. Benches and rest stops are placed along the route, which is helpful for caregivers and anyone who needs frequent breaks. The scenery is beautiful 🤩 mountain views, water features, birds, and sunsets 🐦🌅 yet everything is designed so that people with disabilities can enjoy it without barriers. This is a place where wheelchair users are not an afterthought. If you or a loved one use a wheelchair, Rio Salado Park is one of the best outdoor spaces in Tempe to feel included, safe, and free. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a truly accessible park.

Beautiful and well maintained! Decent opportunities for birding if you're so inclined. The playground is well suited for all ages with picnic tables surrounding along with covered picnic tables in the distance.

This park had a ton of Bird scooters and it was such a fun spot to finally try them out in an open safe space. Even though my brother wiped out and scraped his elbow we still had a great time and the park is family friendly with boat rentals nice walking paths and plenty of space to chill or have a picnic.

The park is on the bike path, a perfect place to run, bike, skate, scooter, for MILES and MILES! Both the North and South side paths are extensive --i rode from TCA to nearly the McClintock bridge on the south path. The path has a dividing line for traffic direction making it easy to pass. Along the way are opportunities to stop and have a break or a picnic, or rent a boat or paddle boat or kayak. Plenty of parking at TCA or at the park. It's just nice playing by the water...in the desert.

Beautiful! At 7:15AM I was able to see the sunrise while the full moon was setting! It doesn't get much better than that. Let me know if there are any spots in nature where you're able to easily see both. Always looking for locations.
