Roka Akor

This spot was recommended to us for sushi. The food quality is very good, but prices are not modest. Expect to pay quite a bit depending on what you order. Every restaurant is a product for a price. In my opinion, the price at Roka is considerably higher than the food experience. Put simply - I've had better sushi for less cost. As to service - hands down it was excellent. Really excellent! Atmosphere inside was absurdly noisy, so we chose to eat on the patio where it was more quiet. They had a nice, attractive bar, but we did not get a chance to try it. In sum, I can't recommend Roka unless you want to splurge and check it out for yourself.

My wife and I have come here numerous times and we decided to bring our 2-month newborn for the first time for a Friday night dinner and it was an amazing date night experience with the 3 of us. The service here is always amazing and we always get a 7 piece nigiri sushi each and steak combo (Australian Wagyu Ribeye is the best!) along with several appetizers (Wagyu beef dumplings + Pork Belly). You truly can’t go wrong with anything here, as this place has the best robata grill for a sushi restaurant in Scottsdale so if you’re craving a variety of things, then Roka Akor is the place to be!

It was an amazing time. I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while now and I’m glad I made the choice to go. The hamachi crudo and black cod were absolutely fantastic. The filet is very unique and melts in your mouth. I highly recommend checking this place out for top grade sushi and steak in Scottsdale.

Everything was great at NYE. We sat at the bar but still received top notch service from bartender. Food were good quality. Serving was fast. It’s not cheap but definitely worth the splurge on NYE. Had a wonderful time there! The black cod is the best!

Came during chef week and enjoyed the prix fix menu, which started with scallop crudo, and we added veggie tempura. They were both unexpectedly unique and flavors were amazing. I have never had tasting salt with my tempura, but it was a great addition. I chose the filet mignon option, which was exquisite. We ended with a dessert of bread pudding, which was tasty, but our portion hadn't been cooked thru and the bread was soggy...but not enough to worry about sending back. I also tried the sake flight, which was alot if fun. Wait staff was friendly and attentive.
