Underground seafood institution serving fresh fish in a unique subterranean setting since 1976.

If there’s a place I keep going back to for seafood in the valley, it’s the Salt Cellar. It’s tucked underground with a couple of staircases leading you in, which adds a cool, hidden‑spot vibe. The service is genuinely top‑notch—friendly, fun, and attentive. Food highlights: the swordfish was spot‑on, cooked to perfection; the three‑pound lobster came out steamed just right, and my server Angela even shelled it for me and took my body away, making the whole experience seamless. The beef Wellington was so good it reminded me of something Gordon Ramsay would plate. Cocktails are a must‑try here; they’re crafted well and round out the meal nicely. The atmosphere feels cozy and inviting without trying too hard. If I could hand out extra stars, I would!

Phenomenal restaurant, you can't go wrong here! Impromptu dinner while in the area. Everything about it was amazing. Jeff was our server and was outstanding! Food was fresh, large portions, and priced right. Definitely the best seafood restaurant around. The Baked Stuffed Lobster is a must. Crab cakes are some of the best I've had. Great ambiance... romantic but good vibes and laid back too. It's a must visit... already making plans to come back!!

My partner surprised me with an intimate romantic dinner here and it was incredibly special. This dimly lit cellar specializes in seafood. We got the crab cake to start which was the star of the show. Lots of crab and a good portion. Their entrees come with a vegetable of the day (that night broccoli) and a potato or rice with a salad. I have to say I wasn’t crazy about the salad or the sides but the seafood main made it worth it. My partner got the swordfish which was great, though a bit dry. My ahi tuna was fantastic, perfectly cooked, melted in my mouth. This is a great restaurant for an anniversary or special occasion!

My husband and I drove from Maricopa to experience what people were saying is some of the best seafood in valley and it did not disappoint. Our server Jeff was amazing and was so thoughtful in every dish either making it gluten friendly (for me) or modified versions for it to be. We had: clam chowder (appetizer) that was GF and full of flavor, along with scallops with a pickled cabbage full of zest and these huge shrimps all for starters. The chilean Seabass was out of this world paired with flavorful rice. Would absolutely go back for special occasion type environment and exceptional meal and service .

Attention to deals in all aspects of the meal. Bread was heated. Salad had mixed greens with homemade croutons and Roquefort dressing. Mesquite grilled scallops, grilled grouper and crab cake were perfectly cooked with great flavor. Sides of glazed carrots and baked potatoes were on point. Waitstaff was very friendly and efficient.
