Slide Rock State Park

I've lived in AZ for a long while now and lived in Flagstaff for 5 years but never visited Slide Rock. It was a very nice and quiet November afternoon when we visited. The weather was perfect at 70 degrees and sunny. Parking is about a quarter mile or so from the steps down to the rock stream but its a beautiful walk. Nice grassy noles and red rocks towering over you. They have restrooms on the way there and throughout the park. There is a small market that has a good variety of product such as swim shoes, hats, sun sunscreen, snacks and drinks. Well stocked, clean and nice staff. There are BBQ picnic areas to enjoy lunch with the family as well in the park. The rock is very smooth and with a little moisture is slippery. There are steps and some rocks you need to traverse while making your way down but its not too bad. Be very careful stepping as there is uneven ground in some areas. We enjoyed the park and the scenery was stunning.

It’s a surprisingly small park, but the creek running through the red canyon rocks offers unbeatable views. Even though the admission fee is expensive for such a short 30-minute to one-hour visit, I’m glad we went.

This place is amazing and I would recommend it to everyone. Very peaceful. It wasn't busy at all. Nice little walk to the water. Beautiful sights everywhere. There's a little market/general store as well.

What a great place. We visited out of season just to walk around. Must be fun in summer.

What a gorgeous, magnificent place in Sedona. The mountains surrounding this park are simply beautiful. The star of the show is the river here as you literally slide down river or jump into it for a swim. You can also take a walk alongside the river and explore more of the beauty this park has to offer
