The Phoenician was amazing from start to finish. The course was in fantastic shape, greens rolled true, and the views throughout the round were beautiful. Perfect weather made it even better. Highly recommend if you’re golfing in Scottsdale

We used to play here, back when it had 27 holes, aka 3 nines. One of the nines were up on top of the hill with awesome views. Now Phoenician only has 18 holes, lost 9 holes to vacation homes being build around the course. The course is still beautiful and back 9 has some good views with beautiful landscape surrounding the course. As for the course, it is in excellent condition with minor brown patches due to the summer heat. Most holes are target golf so Make sure you know where to aim. It is challenging due to undulating fairways and greens where our group truly enjoy the round. Will definitely return when I find good deals on teeoff.com again. Nice golf carts with TuneIn stations. Cooler with ice to chill your canteens. Chill bottled water provided in most comfort stations Friendly OSP and staffs. Bathroom on course: A+

The folks in the pro-shop, bag drop and cart person were all helpful and friendly. The facilities themselves for warming up - range and putting green were sufficient to get you ready for your round. The club provided water and facilities on both 9’s with more cold water that was much appreciated. We saw the beverage cart 3 times during the round which is a good frequency. When I teed off it was 106 degrees and when I putted out on 18 it was 110. I say that as it must be very hard to keep a golf course playable at those temps. The course in total was in good just not great condition. Tee boxes on all the par 3’s were chewed up and some of the fairways were rough here and there. The layout itself offers a nice mix of hole shapes and lengths. The greens were in ok shape, but only rolled at a moderate pace. One surprising thing at the Phoenician was how many carries over/around water you have to greens at a desert golf course. There were at least 6 such holes. Pricing was reasonable for the time of year and conditioning. A good course, just not a great course compared to some other options in the area.

The Pheonecian provided an excellent golf experience start to finish. Solid practice facilities, high quality carts with screens / GPS, putting and chipping areas, and very friendly staff. Once I teed off, I found myself really enjoying the undulating fairways and greens - it was challenging, but the greens had a reasonable speed. So its not too much trouble. There are some holes throughout the track that feel like bombs-away with a little chip up to get up and down for birdie. There were also some really fun shot shaping opportunities - both with driver and approach shots. The back nine zig-zags up and down the mountain side and once you're at the top, there are spectacular views. 10/10. Also there were multiple spots in the track that had really pretty water views. Overall, this place was a great option for a golfers who don't mind a challenge and are ok with the price point. I would absolutely play here again next time I'm in town.

They have really nice high-speed GPS golf carts with leather seats. They should have got normal golf carts and hire a superintendent who knows how to maintain a golf course. These previous reviews that say" it's in great shape", have these people never played a nice golf course before? I should have known better when I was able to get a Saturday tee time 5 days in advance when all the other places I wanted to go play were book solid. 25% of the course is dying and then 50% of it is so soggy It almost qualifies for casual water. It's so soggy that the mowers sink and there are scalp lines all over the place. All tee shots plug. The one employee who asked me how I liked it and I told him I thought the course was in rough shape, they said that I was lucky It only cost $175 to play it because normally it's $500. It's $175 to play because it's 100° outside, not because your superintendent doesn't know how to water grass. I literally wonder if he's using a magic 8 Ball to decide which sprinklers to turn on.... The starter was cool, except half of the foursome in front showed up 10 minutes late while we were getting ready to tee off and instead of him making them join their group, he let them tee off. They never joined the group in front of them and as a result it was backed up because everyone was teeing off 10 minutes later People in the pro shop were nice :)
