The Phoenician was amazing from start to finish. The course was in fantastic shape, greens rolled true, and the views throughout the round were beautiful. Perfect weather made it even better. Highly recommend if you’re golfing in Scottsdale

We used to play here, back when it had 27 holes, aka 3 nines. One of the nines were up on top of the hill with awesome views. Now Phoenician only has 18 holes, lost 9 holes to vacation homes being build around the course. The course is still beautiful and back 9 has some good views with beautiful landscape surrounding the course. As for the course, it is in excellent condition with minor brown patches due to the summer heat. Most holes are target golf so Make sure you know where to aim. It is challenging due to undulating fairways and greens where our group truly enjoy the round. Will definitely return when I find good deals on teeoff.com again. Nice golf carts with TuneIn stations. Cooler with ice to chill your canteens. Chill bottled water provided in most comfort stations Friendly OSP and staffs. Bathroom on course: A+

Probably the best manicured course I’ve played. The background and views were spectacular. Greens were fast/tough, but in immaculate condition. The only thing, for me, holding this back from a 5 star course was the layout. It was fun, but overall not that memorable. Would definitely play it again. I was on a 4 day golf trip. Here are my rankings of what we played. 1. Rancho Manana 2. Lookout Mountain 3. The Phoenician 4. TPC Championship Course

I enjoyed playing the Phoenician. The staff is excellent, welcoming and helpful. The course was in great shape rivaling private country club condition with beautiful views. I found the course challenging yet forgiving enough. The greens had good intrigue that protect what I feel is somewhat shorter play. The only knocks would be… there were a few holes where I felt like I was hitting the same distance tee shot and the same distance approach shot and after the turn things really slowed down with no marshal to help move things along. Plus I was a little sticker-shocked that they charged $12 for two 12 oz CANS 😳 of Diet Coke.

The folks in the pro-shop, bag drop and cart person were all helpful and friendly. The facilities themselves for warming up - range and putting green were sufficient to get you ready for your round. The club provided water and facilities on both 9’s with more cold water that was much appreciated. We saw the beverage cart 3 times during the round which is a good frequency. When I teed off it was 106 degrees and when I putted out on 18 it was 110. I say that as it must be very hard to keep a golf course playable at those temps. The course in total was in good just not great condition. Tee boxes on all the par 3’s were chewed up and some of the fairways were rough here and there. The layout itself offers a nice mix of hole shapes and lengths. The greens were in ok shape, but only rolled at a moderate pace. One surprising thing at the Phoenician was how many carries over/around water you have to greens at a desert golf course. There were at least 6 such holes. Pricing was reasonable for the time of year and conditioning. A good course, just not a great course compared to some other options in the area.
