Iconic luxury resort at the base of Camelback Mountain featuring world-class spa, championship golf, and multiple pools. A Luxury Collection property with stunning desert views.

Fantastic location with beautiful views of Camelback Mountain. That said, for the price point, I expected more elevated amenities. We were disappointed to learn that the spa no longer offers day passes since COVID and that they haven’t been brought back. I visited with my husband while he was attending a conference, and the conference events and meals I joined him for were truly spectacular. Overall, this is a great option if you’re considering The Phoenician for an organization’s conference or event.
The Real Travel Edit
The Phoenician, a Luxury Collection Resort, Scottsdale has jaw-dropping desert views, lush grounds, and picture-perfect pools. 🌴💦 But the charm fades fast: rooms feel dated in spots, service is inconsistent, and on-site dining is overpriced. 💸 Pools get crowded, and the resort vibe leans more “polished showroom” than relaxing escape. Gorgeous for photos, but the full luxury experience doesn’t quite deliver. 📸⚠️

The staff is fantastic, food is really solid. The building, facilities, rooms are a little past due. Outdated in some spots, showing wear in others. Gym is up to date, golf is great. But some maybe most rooms are subpar for the price. You could rent a home for the cost of staying here for twice the days & just pay to golf here instead. I repeat the staff is fantastic but the great people can’t make up for the lack of investment in the property.

Beautiful resort... All the staff we interacted with were great, some Id even call excellent. Good food at all the on property restaurants. Try the wings at the lobby bar! Good conference facilities.

Stayed here in November. I expected a true luxury experience, but unfortunately, the visit fell far short of that promise. For a resort that markets itself as one of Phoenix’s premier destinations, the overall stay was surprisingly underwhelming. When we arrived, it was clear that the level of service did not match the resort’s reputation or price point. Staff felt inattentive at check in. The room itself was also disappointing. It's a basic room that didn't feel luxurious at all. We had walls that had spilled liquid on the walls (see photo). While the property is visually nice, the accommodations didn’t reflect the same level of care. Certain amenities felt outdated, and cleanliness was no where near what it should have been. For the cost and the reputation, I expected a significantly better stay. Unfortunate.
