A premier downtown Phoenix venue housed in a historic building, The Van Buren is known for hosting varied, high-quality acts in an intimate setting. With a capacity of 1,900, it offers an exceptional concert experience with state-of-the-art sound and lighting.

What an awesome venue! I live for live music & I cannot believe I’m an Arizona native and I’ve never been to a concert here!?!? Went to Nico Moon this past weekend and it was excellent! Standing room only so wear comfortable boots (shoes) but it was fantastic! Easy to get in, get drinks, plenty of bathrooms - never had to wait. Not crazy, crowded and easy to see the stage and get close to the artist. Will definitely be back!

The Van Buren is a relatively intimate spot to see a show. It's medium sized, similar to marque. Sound is generally good as long as you can make it to center of the room. The bar has a decent selection of booze but just like most places it'll costs you. Bathrooms are kept clean and are plentiful, I've never waited. They have outside bars which in busier shows can be useful. The balcony. This was a disappointment to find out they are now upcharging for access $15 per person when previously it was free years ago. Plenty of staff & security. Medal detectors. Generally a breeze to get processed and gain entry.

This is a great concert venue! Saw the Nick Jonas Sunday Best concert February 2026. The sound is excellent (which cannot be said for all venues in Phoenix area). Very intimate setting, primarily GA. Unlike Rawhide there is a nice ADA section that is not only roped off but includes a selection of seating options. Good amount of women's restrooms, 3 separate bar areas, efficient security. Only negative was one person in our group didn't get her wrist band while in line (she was putting bag in car) and when we got to security they made her go to end of entire line wrapped around building. There were 4 security standing around with wrist bands in their hands.

I adore this venue. The building went up in 1929, but it’s only been a concert venue since 2017. The building is gorgeous. Everything inside is modern and clean, and the bathrooms are fantastic. I’ve never experienced a line. Parking can be an issue if you don’t plan ahead, but I’ve never not been able to find a spot. The bar next-door is great for hanging out before the venue opens, but the bar inside is wonderful also. Seat 19 upstairs is the best view possible, absolute center. Now that I’m older, my preference is to sit for a concert, but this way you don’t have to deal with the crowd insanity that a larger venue offers. I’ve seen some incredible bands for really reasonable prices. Staff is friendly and clearly enjoy their jobs. The only annoying thing is the pretty awful line at merch, I don’t think that was planned for well, when the building was adapted to a music venue. Will still be coming here for merch and music for years to come!
