I am a full-time licensed hairstylist and almost 6 months pregnant. I booked with Miy’Gee Locs (Simone) hoping to find someone I could trust with my hair and potentially refer my clients to while on maternity leave. My birthday is also coming up on the 27th. I arrived on time with black dye on the ends of my locs, which I regularly touch up. Her booking site states that she washes hair so I didn’t see an issue with me arriving with dye applied. Unfortunately, the wash was performed by someone else whose licensing was unclear. The wash was extremely rough, poorly done, and incomplete—parts of my scalp were barely touched, and my bangs were combed improperly, causing breakage. I left the bowl with visible buildup still in my hair. The retwist itself was gentle and well-parted, which I appreciated because I am tender-headed. However, my hair was placed under a dryer that did not fully dry my locs. Dye was not washed out properly, staining my shirt and leaving a strong smell in my hair. After paying, I checked my scalp and found visible dandruff throughout, despite not having scalp issues when my hair is washed correctly. I have clients with severe dandruff and scalp conditions who require doctor-prescribed shampoos, and I still manage to remove all buildup because I refuse to work on dirty hair. My hair was dirty leaving her chair. Locs are already unraveling due to not drying properly as well. Regardless of her being gentle during the retwist, I will not be returning. As a professional, cleanliness is non-negotiable, and this experience fell short. Having visible dandruff after a wash and retwist is unacceptable. Simone only spoke to me maybe five times during the entire appointment and wore large headphones the whole time. It felt like she didn’t want to be there. Her reviews are misleading—many mention good conversation, which I did not experience. I chose not to disclose that I was a licensed hairstylist because I wanted to experience her services as a client, not as a peer. I was not satisfied. I also don’t agree with her prices for the service I received. Regardless I still left a $10 tip because I am a service provider myself and it is the polite thing to do. I now have to rewash my hair to remove the dye smell, which is overwhelming while pregnant. My hair is also still damp, 5+ hours after my appointment, and will begin to smell like mildew if I don’t wash it again and blow dry it properly. I hate confrontation and leaving negative reviews, but I believe this will be helpful for future clients. This is simply an honest review from a licensed professional who treats clients’ hair the way I would want my own hair treated.

Every time I go to Saint I can expect a fresh taper and a crispy lineup. Compared to what other barbers charge for a haircut Saint also styles my beard and mustache for the same price if not lower.

I’ve been getting my hair cut by Saint for over two years now and he’s always been on time and my hair was cut quickly and with precision.

Been going to Saint for a while now. Never been disappointed by his cuts. The shop has a good setting as well, definitely check them out.
