I’ll start with the bad, because while there were some positives, the negatives were significant for me. First, there’s no sundry shop at all, meaning no quick access to basics like mini meds, drinks, snacks, or even a vending machine. There’s also no loyalty lounge or even a common workspace, so if you need a table to sit and work, your room is your only option. Adding to that, the bottled water in the room is $11 per bottle - kind of excessive. The biggest daily for me was coffee. After 9am, no coffee available in the lobby, no coffee bar, and when I asked about options I was directed to restaurant and told they only had espresso, no lattes, no flavors. The closest Starbucks is a 10-min walk in an area not so walkable, so we Door Dash coffee every late morning. At this price point? The worst though, was comfort. The beds are so uncomfortable that we literally took turns sleeping on the couch. For $600+ per night, that is unacceptable. Temp control was also a problem: there’s no thermostat in the room, the HVAC swings hot to blast A/C directly on bed. Only one vent in the suite, right in front of the bed. I left with a horrible cough and sore throat. The security card reader on our door fell off every time the door closed. I reported it to the front desk multiple times, and eventually we just figured out how to put it back on ourselves. On the positive side, the view of Camelback was beautiful, and room/suite was very nice. The front desk attendants were very kind, and one even went to the kitchen to get me black coffee one morning. Alyssa at concierge was very helpful. I travel over 100 nights a year with Marriot. The W brand is like smoke and mirrors for me. Instagram famous can’t make up for poor sleep, and basic amenities at $600+ a night. It feels more like a high-end party hotel than a luxury stay. Unfortunately, this was a disappointment, and based on my experiences this year (not just in Arizona), I won’t stay at a W again.

I would like to personally thank Huberto for the outstanding service he provided during our convention at the W Scottsdale. His level of professionalism and attention to detail were truly top-notch. He made our entire team feel welcome and well taken care of, to the point where it genuinely reinforced our desire to return to this hotel for future events. I sincerely hope the management team shares this feedback with him. Excellent work, Huberto—please keep up the great work.

The W Scottsdale is everything you want in a luxury hotel — stylish, energetic, and perfectly located. From the second we arrived, the vibe was top-tier and the entire staff made us feel like VIPs. But the real highlight of our stay was the over-the-top customer experience Sam Johnson provided. Sam went above and beyond in every way — attentive, professional, and genuinely caring. You can tell he takes pride in making sure guests have an unforgettable experience, and he absolutely delivered. It’s rare these days to get service that feels that personal and that exceptional. Between the atmosphere, the comfort, and the service, this stay was a home run. If you’re staying at the W Scottsdale, do yourself a favor and ask for Sam Johnson — he’s the kind of person who makes you want to come back again and again.

charged $60 for the WET DECK just for it to be lowkey FREE! I lost my ID card in the pool drain. Instead of delivering my card and my ID back to my chair, she delivered it to me while I was in the pool great! She was nice though, and she was cute!

This hotel is a matter of personality. The location is perfect, however I'm just not in contemporary and "hip". Dance Music playing constantly. I found the room I was staying in to be average. Both nights I was there I could here people screaming from the outside as the bars were closing.
