Yuma Office - Yuma

Yuma as a city needs fixing, the publics works department either needs funds or something. The roads and sidewalks are horrible. Cracks everywhere and big ol gaps in the sidewalks. I'm surprised there's hardly any potholes in the streets that I noticed. Help me understand how putting trees in the median of 32nd Street is more important than fixing the roads. When it rains it floods. I feel like I'm living in a third world country

Today we went to the city hall in Yuma to watch the video on the longest single engine flight that ultimately brought the marine base back to Yuma. It is an extraordinary video of 47 days of continuous flight and how they did it. While there we met the most engaged ambassador for the city hall. His name was Rick Power and I believe he was involved in the video/electronics department of city hall. We met him in the video display theatre and then he gave us a personalized tour of city hall and it’s history involving Yuma. We followed his advise on places to see around Yuma but thoroughly enjoyed our personal tour of things you will not see if you didn’t have a guide. Rick is a wonderful tour guide and his enthusiasm showed throughout his tour. He would say “would you like to see” and we responded yes of course. Thank you to Rick for our tour.

I contacted Yuma City Hall today at 11:40 AM, and unfortunately, one of the female employees spoke to me in a very unprofessional manner and then hung up the phone on me. This is unacceptable, and employees should be respectful and professional.

Good Yuma! Before this trip, I think I had a vague notion of the whole snowbird phenomenon. But goodness. Hundreds of little towns and cities in southern Arizona, with Yuma at the epicenter, are remade every few months. Bad Yuma!
