Zipps Sports Grill - Phoenix 44th St

We were nearby eating pizza and afterwards wanted to stop somewhere for some wings and a few drinks. I’ve only been to a Zipps one other time at a location in Glendale and it wasn’t for us, but we saw this spot and it looked busy and a much better vibe so we stopped in. We were greeted right away which was good and were able to sit at a booth with a few of our kids. Our waitress was friendly and attentive our entire visit. We ordered the wings hot and she informed us they can’t take them back if too spicy so she wanted to make sure we would still like them hot. It sounds like a lot of people can’t handle heat and don’t eat them. I also ordered their chip salad. Both came out pretty quick. The wings were so good. Not overly sauced, crispy and the wings weren’t event that hot. I’m a bit of a sissy and I’d say they were more mild than anything. The salad was okay, but mostly just iceberg and some bacon crumbles. It was crisp and cold. Vibe is fun. It’s a sports bar so lots of TVs and pretty loud. Parking was easy, but can fill up quick. It’s a very busy parking lot.

I've been going to Zipps for many years. The wings ate great, the fish and chips are a great value. The food in general is just ok in my opinion. But it's a sports bar. The drinks a great, the service is great. The happy hour specials are good. It's a good place to go for drinks and watch a game. And if you get hungry, the food is OK.

Probably the worst experience I’ve had at a restaurant all year. Wouldn’t have been my first choice, but we were meeting some friends that were in the area. They text us as we were walking in, so we actually know exactly how long it took for us to get our drinks. 36 minutes for two drinks. A martini and a beer nothing hard to make. About 15 minutes in I did ask the waitress where our drinks were. She said oh they should be coming shortly. Then she took the food order for half the table. About 10 minutes later I stopped her again and asked about our drinks and why she did not come to our end to take our order. She just kind of shook it off. I ordered mozzarella stick sticks, which I would never get again if I were to step into one of your locations. 36 minutes later, we finally had our drinks and probably 25 or 30 minutes after that we finally received the mozzarella sticks. Our friend that was next to us ordered with the first round of food, and she still had not received her wings. I understand places get busy and service can take a while, but they were not busy and she was very nonchalant and seemed to not give a care in the world about our experience. It was the second time I’ve ever been to a Zipps and definitely the last.

Had the buffalo wings temp hot. They weren't too spicy and excellent and the Philly cheese steak roll were okay. Great and fast service.

I've been in there today to order some food to go.They gave me a menu and didn't check on me for 15 minutes it was very slow today when I was there so I didn't understand why she was taking so long to check on me then she came over to try to take my order. I just wasn't interested anymore and just left. But from my experience, I will never recommend my friends to go there and I'll probably won't be going there anymore. I guess I just need to pick my battles better next time.
