Except for the imaginative maki-zushi, there’s nothing trendy about this cozy neighborhood Japanese restaurant and sushi bar, which offers oshibori and old-school hospitality.

I was informed by the staff Mikado Sushi offers a daily happy hour from 3pm-6pm. They offer a list of items that are part of the happy hour menu. We dine in on a Friday night and it was a full house! The restaurant is small but they are able to seat a good amount of people. The place was lively and the staff were friendly. We came right before the end of happy hour and were still able to order from it. The service and staff were great and attentive but the sushi was not as good as we would have liked it to be. It was the flavor and texture. We ordered the following rolls and appetizer at happy hour price: Shrimp Tempura Roll $6.25 (Recommend this roll) Spicy Salmon Roll $5.95 (The flavor profile was missing) Las Vegas Roll $10.95 (The outside layer to too thick) Volcano Roll 12.95 (The flavor profile was missing) Spicy Edamame $4.95 (Not spicy at all but it was sweet) My goal is to provide this review as a constructive feedback for the menu because the staff and customer turnout is on point.

We came in for lunch and had a great experience. The food was fresh and tasteful. The staff were excellent and attentive at checking in with us and bringing us more sauce and water. We had the tonkatsu ramen and the pork katsu, both delicious. Would defiantly recommend and come back.

I have never had a bad experience or food that I didn't enjoy here. I really like their sushi lunch selection and the sushi chefs will actually give you new and exciting nigiri not just the same 4-6 run-of-the-mill type fish. The ONLY negative is the fact they don't have a soda machine and 12oz cans of soda are $3 a piece so I stick with the large sake-bomber combo ;). I will continue to enjoy this gem of a restaurant often!

Ordered the 2 combo order w/ California Rolls, salmon avocado sushimi, which also included a side of either fried rice or white, and Miso soup. The soup was delectable, the food presentation, service and taste were definitely one of the best sushi restaurants I've visited in the most recent months. Customer service is above and beyond!

One of the best sushi and Japanese restaurants in the South East valley. The fresh Wasabi is a must!
