5 out of 5 stars Samurai Sombrero is hands-down my favorite sushi spot in all of Tucson! They have an amazing vegan sushi menu that is waaay more than just a plain cucumber roll (though they have that and it’s good). They have genuinely fun vegan options. The Death Free Foodie roll (whatever magic is in that one—it’s incredible!), the sweet potato roll, and especially the fried avocado roll are absolutely delicious. I could eat them every day if I could! I wish I could come here more often because it’s just that good. The sushi bar is tucked inside American Eat Co. on Fourth Avenue, with plenty of parking and a shared space with other great spots. The atmosphere is lively, fun, and welcoming—such a cool vibe. Huge props to the team for being so accommodating to vegans. Definitely 5 out of 5 stars for the incredible rolls and overall experience. Highly recommend to anyone craving amazing sushi in Tucson!

Samurai Sombrero is that unexpected foodie heaven moment you didn’t know you needed — bold mural walls, neon sushi glow, industrial food hall energy — and then boom… vegan sushi that absolutely puts it at the top for me. The rolls are fresh, beautifully plated, and not an afterthought (which matters). Creamy avocado, perfect rice texture, that clean soy dip — it hits. It’s tucked inside American Eat Co., so the whole space is buzzing, casual, unfiltered, and vibey in the best way. You can pull up for sushi, grab a drink, wander the hall, and make a whole night out of it. For plant-based sushi lovers especially? This spot is elite. Total vibe. 🍣🔥

We've been enjoying Samurai Sombrero ever since they used to have their food truck back on 22nd & Pantano. We were thrilled when they moved much closer to us. Gabby is extremely personable and remembers our names and faces just like many of her other regulars too. That alone in the experience makes the food all the more enjoyable. You really cannot go wrong with any roll they serve because in my honest opinion, both Gabby and Chuy are thee place to go for Mexican Sushi in Tucson. It's fresh, it's flavorful, and will keep you coming back for more.

WOW!! I ordered the Ceviche & Sonora Roll as well as the lobster popcorn roll, and the death free foodie roll. They were all amazing, but the sonora roll really stood out to me this time around because of the hamachi, tuna, crab, and shrimp tempura combo that blew me out of the park. Definitely a must visit for Tucson locals, out of towners wanting an amazing mexican Sushi experience !!

Samurai Sombrero is hands down the best sushi in town! This family-owned gem inside the American Eat Co. complex delivers sushi rolls that are consistently fresh, flavorful, and made with so much love. The quality is unmatched, with the perfect rice-to-fish ratio in every roll. Each bite bursts with incredible flavor, and you can tell they take pride in every dish they send out. We live about 40 minutes away, and it’s absolutely worth the drive every single time. Every roll on the menu is delicious, but our favorites are the Sonora, the Sombrero, and the Abigail—although honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of them. If you’re a sushi lover, do yourself a favor and try them all. This place is a must-visit!
