I visited The Mead Hall on the night of December 13, 2025, and wanted to give a shoutout to the entire staff—welcoming, polite, and clearly passionate about what they do. The mead was excellent, and drinking it from a horn is every nerd’s dream done right. I will absolutely be coming back. If you’re debating whether to stop in, take this review as your sign to raise a horn.

Luke is the most amazing cocktail slinger! He's very funny, personable, and so informative. I brought a bunch of my friends who never tried mead before and he was so patient in explaining the flavors and different flavor profiles. I really hope the Cadillac apple is here to stay because it's absolutely divine. Other than the Cadillac apple, my favorites are Freyja, Doc Holliday, Pomegranate, Cranberry, and Apple. I'm from Phoenix but always make sure to stop by the mead all anytime I'm in the area. The workers are great and the vibes are top notch. Feels like you're walking into a Skyrim tavern I love this place.

NEGATIVE STARS. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE BY VIVIAN. AVERAGE MEAD. If I could give this place a negative star review, I would. My experience at this mead hall tonight was the most despicable, irresponsible, disgusting customer service and bar etiquette I have ever experienced. I have traveled all over the US (Arizona is the 46th state) and around the world to many cocktail bars and meaderies, and this is by far the most atrocious handling of closing time and customers I have ever seen. We walked in pretty close to closing time, every bar handles last call and closing time differently. That is why we called ahead and asked how they were handling last call. Zack, on the phone, said come on in. Last call is at 9:45 pm, can't wait to see us. In Utah, for example, if a bar closes at 10pm, you have until 11pm to finish your drink and leave. At 9:50pm, with no mention of when they need us to leave the bar, they let us order 2.5 flights of meads, $70 mind you. At 10:02 pm, the bartender named Vivian aggressively said "we need you to leave now". At 10:04 pm, they were threatening to take away the drinks we had already paid for if we didn't chug them. Within 14 minutes, they expected us to finish 2.5 flights/$70 worth of mead. Never when we ordered, did anyone mention that we needed to leave the bar by 10PM sharp. IF THAT IS YOUR POLICY, YOU NEED TO COMMUNICATE THAT. At the same time, I saw Vivian aggressively and loudly across the bar yell at another customer for asking to stay in the bar while he waited for a cab because it was raining outside. He asked if he could stay inside while he waited for a cab, a responsible decision, and was met with Vivian hounding him to leave the bar immediately. I was truly appaled to see such horrendous customer service to not only myself but to this other customer. I want to make it clear. I have no issues with their closing time. However, if you are closing at 10pm on the dot and would like everyone to leave your establishment exactly at that time, do not serve people that much alcohol with 10 minutes left to close and expect them to finish it all. Or let people know that they need to finish their drinks in 10 minutes so they can make an appropriate logical decision about how much to order. Or let people stay an appropriate minimum amount of time to logically finish their drinks. Many ways to handle it. All could be fine except how Vivian chose to handle it. Vivian, your behavior as bar manager tonight, was not only disrespectful and hurtful but dangerous to how you handle serving guests. I would avoid this bar at all costs because no one should spend their hard earned money on an establishment that doesn't care about it's guests and disrespects them. Frankly, I have been to so many meaderies and, this one, in terms of their mead, is absolutely average on it's best day. I have many friends who live in Flagstaff and I have told them to spread the word about what I personally experienced and witnessed tonight in this place of business. 0 STARS. DISGUSTING AND DANGEROUS CUSTOMER SERVICE. TREATS PAYING CUSTOMERS LIKE FILTH OFF THE STREET. TAKE A CUSTOMER SERIVCE LESSON.

This place is more than amaze balls. Jasper and her manager are fantastic ladies who fit the style of this viking drinking hall. Their lovely disposition made us come back twice. The meads are amazing to try. Im not a drinker but my husband who is a fan of meads loves their flavors. He had a few of the 6 flights to try to find his favorite and he did. We bought a bottle to bring back home with us. I loved the Butter bee-ah. Sweet and dangerous. My favorite kind of cocktail. We were allowed to bring in our own food since they do not serve any food here. Military discount is available. And the smiles are free with the tasty meads this hall has to offer.
