Pep Boys - Mesa

Had a vehicle in today, 10/4/25, for tire replacement. Debbie was great and provided excellent customer service. However, their techs are quite lazy and returned the vehicle to me with a tire goop all over all four rims (see picture). When I called back, the gentleman I spoke with was dismissive and said just wash the car and it will come off. Sure, I don’t doubt that it will. BUT, maybe just do a clean job and have your techs return the wheels the way they came in - without crap all over them. It just shows the level of care they put into their service. Would do 1 star, but Debbie was genuinely great, so want to reflect that. As for the rest of the team, step it up & quit being lazy.

A screw in the tire of my work truck on a sunday had me a little concerned. Found that Pep Boys was open so I stopped by to see if they could help. They were great ,friendly, professional, and timely with the repair! Thanks guys for the awesome service!

Fast, easy and No bull! These guys help me 30 minutes from closing and were priced better than everyone else. I was already having a bad day since I blew out my tire on the highway. They mounted my new tire quickly and were less expensive.

*UPDATE* I changed the review to a one star from two star. While the social media people reached out quick, the area director did not. I actually had to follow up a week later and then received a call a few days later. He did tell me they don’t have many issues out of that store, but based on the recent reviews I find that hard to believe. The director was quick to listen and apologize! However, it seemed he was only interested in finding a resolution that involved me coming back. I’m sorry but I don’t want them touching my truck ever again. They did not perform a single service correctly. I asked for a refund and he informed me that he wanted to do something to retain my business. Again I have no interest in that. What should have happened was a refund should have been processed. Why should I have to pay them for services (which are more expensive than most places) and then pay another shop to fix their work? Makes no sense. I called my bank told them what happened and disputed the charge. I would definitely steer clear. I ordered new tires off tire agent and had them delivered to this store for installation at the beginning of October. Spent $120. The installation was very poor. Tire glue all over the wheels. Very sloppy. Furthermore the truck shook so bad going down the road. Took back a month later to get rebalanced and an alignment as I had suspension work done. The alignment was so bad the wheel was off 2-3 inches to the left. Technician did not drive it to verify. The shaking was also still bad. Spent $180. I’m convinced the alignment was fine to begin with, I just wanted to be sure since suspension work was done. Took it back the next day to get alignment fixed. Same result. At this point I didn’t even walk back in. I went to the pep boys on higley and they rebalanced the rear tires instead of all of them. Shaking got a little better. They also attempted to fix the alignment, but it’s was off an inch or two to the right as well as pulling hard to the right. This store did goodwill and did not charge me anything. It was considered warranty work from the other pep boys. The truck had a leveling kit installed and each store said that it would not be an issue getting it aligned. I asked this before hand as to not waste their or my time. I spent a total of 8 hours between two shops to get poor work. The only reason I even brought it in for an alignment was because of the shaking and the suspension work. I now know the shaking was from the poor tire install. When I brought the truck in the steering was completely straight, tight and did not pull. I would not expect the alignment to get worse. Took the truck to discount tire for a balance and the truck drives amazing. Them took the truck to brake masters to fix the crap work from pep boys. Truck drives like I stole it now. I’d really appreciate someone reaching out to me to make this right. I paid you guys for services and not a single service was performed correctly. I also had to pay again for the services you completed incorrectly. I think a refund or at least a partial refund is in order. The technician name on all of my work orders for this location is Malachai. I will update this review if/when they reach out to make it right. I waited to do a google review and submitted an internal review and I have not received a call back.

The 2 gentlemen working the day I went in to have my AC checked were friendly, knowledgeable, answered all my questions. The issue was addressed and there was no pressure selling for services I didn't need. The cost was extremely reasonable and I wouldn't hesitate to go back!
